Some people thinks that it is not important and is a waste of time. They are totally wrong, it is very important as it reminds all singaporeans aboout independent. If you are one of them, you can forget staying in Singapore.<br /><br /><br /><br />On this day in 1942, Singapore fell to the Japanese. Total Defence Day is commemorated every year on this date to remind Singaporeans of World War II. The british adbandoned us when we need them most. We thought they are good to rely on, yet we are somehow being betrayed. We have learn a memorable lesson that we must ourselves defend Singapore and We cannot rely on others to defend our country. Beside that, we must build a strong military defence to prepare for any disaster. Singapore is defensible and is worth defending.<br /><br /><br /><br /><br />Total Defence is divided into five aspects – Military Defence, Civil Defence, Economic Defence, Social Defence and Psychological Defence. For Military defence, it is to have a credible defence force that is able to deter aggression and secure a swift victory over the aggressor should deterrence fail. For Civil defence, it is to know what to do during cvil emergencies as we can help to save life and property and ensure life going on. For Economic defence, it is staying relevant and competitive through rapid change and development. For Social defence, it is all races work and live together in harmony without any racism. Having more plays for singaporeans will help them spent their time more meaningfully rather than they waste their time on computers games or SMS. The number of plays written by singaporeans weren't much, which is rather a bad start for singapore. Most plays are from other countries and Singapore is losing out. Foreigners will be very dissapointed when they know that our plays are so little.</span><br /><span style="color:#330000;"></span><br /><span style="color:#330000;">I hope that more efficient education will be provided for the children so that when they grow up, more people will become writers and more plays to be shown.
